about

A pastiche is an honorific parody. Unlike a parody, which ridicules or mocks its subject, a pastiche pays homage, but it is also a much less specific tribute. For example, this song pays homage to the rock and roll songs of the 50s, but its lyrical content is not similar. It's only in style.

lyrics

My brain is breaking, but that's okay.
My skin is flaking, on this warm day.
My interests lock in with unstructured fear,
losing my perspective is a sure way to lose,
sure way to lose,
sure way to lose.

When I arrive at the only possibility,
it's so wrong, I've sat there, wasting my dawn!
But that's what you get from minimalist expression,
answers that have no practical use,
no practical use,
no practical use.

I'm not sad, or angry, or hurt,
I'm just a confused soul.
I'm sorry, excuse me, my answers are curt,
it's the result of feeling vulnerable.

I'm not sad, or angry, or hurt,
I'm just a confused soul.
I'm sorry, excuse me, my answers are curt,
it's the result of feeling vulnerable.

My brain is breaking, but that's okay.
My skin is flaking, on this warm day.
My interests lock in with unstructured fear,
losing my perspective is a sure way to lose,
sure way to lose,
sure way to lose.
