Silent summer goes by like a wounded crawl,
Imagination running wild through an empty hall,
Paranoia the only guest to take your weary cloak,
Insecurity laughing at what it sees, like an inside joke.

The sounds greet you like a return to normalcy.

Causing your joy to depart like a blood rite toast,
